With a career in the music industry spanning over 25 years, Thorsten first worked as a sound engineer in Germany in the eighties, and has mixed literally hundreds of acts in many more hundreds of shows, taking in many venues on the way. His expertise range from house bands, musicals, classic orchestras, festivals, and rock concerts.

I understand the "nuts & bolts" of a PA system (from microphone selection and placement to controller settings and loudspeaker positioning), as well the practicalities of creating a good mix in a difficult room. I know what needs to be plugged in where, and what to change if it needs changing. I can work quickly under time pressure without compromising the performance, leaving you free to enjoy the show or play the music.

In other words I won't be late, rude, slapdash or clueless. I'll bring with me what any professional sound engineer should have with him (headphones, PVC tape, Sharpies, blank channel lists, clipboard, toolkit and basic test equipment), and as far as it is humanly possible will leave everything as I found it when we depart (picking up cable ties, bits of gaffer or PVC tape, plastic coffee cups and anything else I have used as I go).

I have worked in small venues and large, indoors and outdoors, with a wide range of performers and styles. I have mixed everything from solo acappella to garage bands, choirs, classical orchestra, musicals, and theater products. If you can produce it, I can mix it.

I have also worked on every kind of PA from mini mixer-amp & two speakers to full-blown 52-channel concert systems, on every kind of desk from Budget Notepad to digital Yamaha consoles. If you have a system and a band, I will help you get the best from it.

I have consulted churches and other permanent Venues in purchasing the right gear and working with the best acoustic design companies. I provide training in how to setup and "run" your PA.
